As **Supervising Editor, Math** you will oversee the development, delivery, and quality of a wide range of projects for educational publishing clients. You will use your excellent editorial skills and project management expertise to ensure projects are well-written for the appropriate audience, are objective and outcome-aligned, consistently adhere to specifications, are delivered on time and within budget, and exceed client expectations for accuracy and quality. You will support the creation and/or revision of educational and professional content (instructional content, assessments, teacher support, supplements, and digital content) and the production and release of finished products across a wide range of disciplines and modalities. You will use your content development expertise to coach and mentor other internal and freelance team members and to ensure implementation of best practices.

This position is full-time, with benefits, reporting directly to the Associate Director, K12 Education. It can be located either in our Norwell, MA, office or remote from your home office (however, this position must be US-based in Eastern or Central time zone).

Compensation range $70K-80K annually with benefits.

**Responsibilities & Duties**:
Supervising Editor, Math responsibilities include:
**Content Development**:
- Build teams of qualified freelance writers and editors on a per-project basis, during pre-launch phase and throughout project duration as needed.-
- Act as editorial lead on assigned projects, including oversight of assigned staff and freelancers, providing guidance, and troubleshooting issues to keep projects on track.- Attend client-facing meetings as editorial lead, to communicate project updates, provide information and expertise, and maintain client satisfaction.
- Evaluate and revise content to ensure adherence to client expectations, including QA & QC measures. Create content when needed.
- Perform final review of product before submission to client.- Conduct research and fact-check content when needed.- Correlate content to national and state standards, when needed.

**Account Management**:
- Provide support to Associate Director, Managing Editor, and other key stakeholders in responding to RFPs from new and existing clients, including formal bids and virtual presentations.
Interface with clients to maintain and foster client relationships in support of current and potential future work.- With support, set and review project budgets, and monitor project finances and project processes, making any adjustments to maintain a positive financial health of projects.
- Attend internal status meetings and weekly touch-base meetings with supervisor and other key stakeholders, as required.

**Project Management**:
With support from supervisor/project manager:
- Create and manage project schedules.
Evaluate, organize, and maintain project documentation, disseminating current information to internal team members and clients. Create additional documentation such as project guidelines when needed.- Oversee and manage freelance editors and writers (contractors) throughout the content development process, from initial contracting through final manuscript creation and delivery.
- Conduct transmittals of deliverables to clients.
- Receive and approve contractor invoices.

**Qualifications**:- College degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a STEM field is required.
- Expert knowledge of the Common Core Math standards for K-12 and current best practices in mathematics pedagogy is required.
- Prior experience teaching mathematics, preferably at different K-12 grades/levels is highly preferred.
- Proficient in all levels of mathematics commonly taught in K-12.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills.
- High attention to detail and organization.
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated, able to work independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident working with a remote team that spans continents and time zones.
- Available during US East Coast business hours.
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
