**JOB SUMMARY**
The Aerial Specialist is a leadership role that will oversee the day-to-day operations and overall management of the Aerial team. The Aerial Specialist will be responsible for leading their team to meet project deliverables and doing so on time as specified by project management. Operating in an efficient manner while increasing team productivity and building a cohesive team of individuals. The goal of the department is to exceed productivity and quality metrics.
**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**:

- Lead and train aerial department, providing guidance, support, and knowledge transfer to enhance their skills and performance.
- Collaborate with clients and actively participate in client calls to understand project requirements, address concerns, and provide effective solutions.
- Manage requirements for field data collection, ensuring accurate and comprehensive data is gathered to support distribution design activities.
- Utilize pole loading knowledge to create pole load models for wind-loading using O-Calc and SPIDAcalc software.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of GO95 and NESC standards to ensure compliance in distribution design.
- Complete data entry into computer systems and Tracker to maintain accurate records of distribution designs and project progress.
- Analyzes survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography, and other geographic data for consideration in telecommunications project design.
- Conducts quality control reviews of all aspects of the aerial drafting phases including make ready design, wind loading calculations, field reports and JPA forms of the design project.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**
- Associate’s degree or 3+ years equivalent industry or professional experience
- 2+ years of experience designing distribution facilities utilizing client standards, including overhead and underground distribution infrastructure, feeder replacement, cable replacement, and telecommunication Make-Ready assessments.
- 3+ years of experience working in an Aerial or equivalent position.
- 3+ years of experience working with wind loading technology, JPA, or Make-Ready Engineer.
- 3+ years of experience working with pole loading programs such as SPIDA or O-Calc.
- 1+ years of experience working in a lead/management position.
- Ability to read and understand utility maps.
- Ability to take direction and perform specific tasks without direct supervision.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Earth.
- Strong knowledge of local city, county, and local utility company design standards for the purposes of obtaining permits.

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
