Director of Daycare

**Garrison Forest School seeks a Director of Daycare to begin June 1, 2024. The Director has the responsibility of the daily operations of the Daycare as well as planning, implementing, and maintaining a credentialed daycare program for the Garrison Forest Community. The Director of Daycare reports directly to the Head of Early Childhood Education.**

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Oversee the academic, social, and emotional life of the Daycare students including oversight of curriculum, student records and scheduling**:

- **Work to ensure a smooth and warm onboarding experience for families**:

- **Supervise, direct and support the Daycare faculty and staff**:

- **Work closely with the Head of Early Childhood Education for screening and hiring potential Daycare faculty and staff**:

- **Schedule and carry out professional development of Daycare faculty and staff through meetings, workshops etc.**:

- **Maintain a warm, nurturing environment for all students, families, faculty and staff involved with the Daycare**:

- **Convey to parents and faculty the philosophy and goals of the Daycare as outlined in the Daycare Parent Handbook**:

- **Engage and communicate with Daycare families on a regular basis**:

- **Assist in developing and supervising Daycare budgets and the care and upkeep of the Daycare building, grounds, and equipment**:

- **Oversee daily operations of the Daycare program, including budget, enrollment, maintaining licensure, curriculum, and teacher observations**:

- **Ensure that the Daycare program meets all requirements necessary to maintain licensing from the State of Maryland**:

- **Assist with staffing and facility needs including maintaining teacher and substitute schedules and filling in when needed**:

- **Oversee all new employees with center orientation**:

- **Other duties as assigned**

**Qualifications**
- **Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred**:

- **Must be able to meet the State of Maryland, OCC and other licensing regulatory agencies’ requirements**:

- **Minimum of five years experience working in an Early Childhood setting**:

- **Experience supervising others and building and maintaining a team of professionals**:

- **Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills**:

- **Ability to work collaboratively with other leaders throughout the school community**:

- **Deep understanding of developmentally appropriate practices and milestones for infants and toddlers**:

- **Flexible, warm, caring, nurturing personality with an enthusiasm for working with infants, toddlers and their families**:

- **Physically able to work with young children (bending, stooping, walking, lifting etc.)**:

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
