Librarian Front End Web

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and develop the library’s website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Ensure the website is responsive and functions well on a variety of devices and screen sizes.
- Create and implement UI/UX designs that enhance the user experience.
- Manage and update web content using content management systems (CMS) like WordPress or Drupal.
- Collaborate with library staff to ensure timely and accurate updates of library resources and information.
- Develop templates and tools for easy content creation and management by non-technical staff.
- Integrate and manage electronic resources and databases within the library’s website.
- Ensure seamless access to digital collections, online catalogs, and other library services.
- Implement and maintain search functionalities to enhance resource discoverability.
- Ensure the website complies with web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) to provide an inclusive experience for all users.
- Conduct regular audits and updates to maintain compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and optimize the website’s performance, including load times and overall user experience.
- Implement best practices for web performance and security.
- Provide training and support to library staff on web technologies and content management.
- Create documentation and user guides for maintaining and updating the website.
- Manage web development projects from conception to completion, including timelines, resources, and stakeholder communication.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to align web initiatives with broader organizational goals.

**Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in web development, preferably in a library or academic setting.
- Demonstrated experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js).
- Strong understanding of UI/UX principles and web design best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in web accessibility standards and practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with non-technical staff.
- Knowledge of library systems and digital resource management is a plus.

**Job Type**: Contract

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
