**Taproom Manager**

We are seeking an enthusiastic craft beer-loving Taproom Manager with high volume taproom or restaurant/bar experience to oversee Strong Rope Brewery’s growing Brooklyn taprooms (in Gowanus and Red Hook). The Taproom Manager’s primary duties include managing our fun bartending staff, overseeing the taproom operations and its guests, and assisting in the strategic planning, budgeting, and growth of the taproom and Strong Rope Brewery.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Oversee taproom operations including managing and supporting taproom staff, to ensure a smooth front of house operation
- Manage shift schedule and adjust based on seasonality and the needs of the taproom and private events
- Execute and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, providing clear and deliverable guidelines for staff
- Work with Ownership to create and manage taproom budget, provide weekly sales reports, monthly sales analysis, and quarterly forecasting
- Order inventory (beer, wine, cider, spirits, supplies, merchandise) and maintain vendor relationships
- Encourage retail sales, and resolve customer questions and concerns
- Work with our Production and Sales heads to ensure that the taproom is properly stocked on all draft lines and cans
- Collaborate with Private Events, Marketing, Communications, and Programming Leads to collaborate on ideas, coordinate operations, events, and communication across various taproom needs
- Develop familiarity with beer offerings/styles/taste, general knowledge of Strong Rope Brewery and its background
- Oversee taproom operations during peak periods, provide additional coverage as needed, including, bussing, bartending, and changing kegs
- Maintain a clean, friendly, and welcoming environment for guests at all times and ensure staff are following the SOP and Strong Rope’s code of conduct
- Clearly communicate with staff on all changes that affect the taproom and management of any taproom needs
- Define success (goals) and reporting (metrics) for the taproom and, monitor, learn, adjust/adapt and grow.
- Coordinate staff training for our beer and ability to communicate our offerings to our patrons
- Hire and train staff as needed

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required**
- At least 2 years experience managing a high volume taproom or bar/restaurant/event space and team
- Strong knowledge of beer styles, history, and culture
- A passionate and happy service-oriented persona with boundless energy
- Excellent management skills
- Friendly, enthusiastic manner with strong communication and leadership skills
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and detail-oriented abilities
- Creative problem solving skills, ability to work under pressure, calmly handle stressful situations
- Flexible work schedule, must be available nights and weekends
- Punctual and responsible, and willing to lead by example
- Must be 21 years or older and eligible to work in the US
- Certified Beer Server Cicerone a plus
- Knowledge of 7shifts, Asana, Slack, Toggle, Google Suite a plus

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
