**Do you want to work somewhere that makes a difference in the lives of kids each and every day?** The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is seeking a Director of Programs & Staff Development to oversee its portfolio of programs and services offered to 10,000 kids in Schenectady annually. This dynamic Director will oversee development and training for the member database. In addition to overseeing staff at BGCS school program sites, this key member of the leadership team will also be responsible for managing the grants and contracts that fund school site programs, including meeting program metrics, data collection, and reporting. As a liaison between BGCS and the schools, this professional will maintain a collaborative partnership to deliver services to students. They advise and assist Unit/ Program Directors in the areas of volunteer management and staff development opportunities.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide leadership and direction to full-time program staff in the management of their programming at designated Clubs and program sites and lead regular Programming Team meetings.
- Act as primary point of contact for school personnel regarding BGCS School Programs and manages partnership relationship with key school personnel at each site.
- Oversee club membership and volunteer administration in BGCS database.
- In close collaboration with the Director of Operations, manage grant deliverables, records and outcomes for grants that fund programming at school sites.
- Take a leadership role in BGCS summer camps annually.
- Ensure continuous improvement of programs by conducting regular program evaluations and annual written analysis of member needs and interests. Compile monthly reports reflecting all activities, attendance, and participation at sites and clubs.
- Manage and communicate volunteer onboarding and training procedures before they start at site/ program.
- Utilize and champion program and staff development tools and professional development training on BGCA.net and Spillet Leadership University.
- Manage financial resources, participating in the development of annual budgets and grant budgets. Control expenditures against the budget, making recommendations for expenditures to purchase supplies and equipment.
- Oversee the administration of designated programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady’s Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports Plan.

**Required Skills/Competencies**
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of five years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
- Thorough knowledge of youth development theory and lesson planning.
- Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, coaching and performance management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to problem solve and think creatively
- Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management
- Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders.
- Working knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office and ability to become skilled in other software as needed.
- Experience with databases and/or SalesForce is a plus
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
- Must be a team player and team leader
- Flexible and able work in fast-paced environment

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
