Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Counselor to join our team. As a Residential Counselor, you will provide support and care for individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist residents with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and ensure the safety of residents
- Monitor and document changes in residents' behavior, health, and overall well-being
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their dignity and privacy are respected

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, memory care, and behavior management techniques is a plus
- Ability to perform vital signs monitoring and basic first aid procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to help others
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in caregiving or related fields are a plus

Pay: $14.05 - $14.36 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

**Experience**:

- Nursing: 1 year (required)
- Caregiving : 1 year (required)

License/Certification:

- CPR Certification (required)

Shift availability:

- Day Shift (preferred)
- Night Shift (preferred)
- Overnight Shift (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Chester, VA 23831 (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Chester, VA 23831: Relocate before starting work (required)
