ABE Laboratories LLC is an accredited Drinking Water testing laboratory in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania. We are seeking a Collector for our laboratory located in Bath, PA. Operating their personal vehicles, Collectors travel to client locations to collect water samples and deliver them to our laboratory. Upon pick up, Collectors are required to document their samplings and store the samples on ice to ensure their integrity during transit. Equipment will be supplied. This is a part-time position scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 8:30am-3pm (estimated 15-18 hours/week and 150miles/week). Offering competitive pay, mileage compensation and associated company benefits. No experience required. Must have access to a cell phone and a vehicle, proof of insurance and a clean driving record.

POSITION OVERVIEW: Working under the direction of Office Management, Collectors support the overall operation of the laboratory by ensuring samples are properly collected, stored and delivered to the laboratory in an efficient and timely manner while following established procedures and safety guidelines. All duties are conducted on weekdays. No evenings. No weekends.

**MAJOR/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Safely and efficiently operate a vehicle when driving to and from client locations for the purposes of retrieving samples and then deliver them to the laboratory.
- Promote the Company's brand through professional interactions with clients and observable safe driving practices.
- Collect samples in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Sample pick-up on a flexible schedule according to customer requirements.
- Maintain storage of samples in accordance with established SOP's.
- Ensure legal documentation is complete and accurate (i.e. Chain of Custody Forms).
- Ensure samples are labeled appropriately and assist with sample log-in efforts.
- Maintain accurate and legible logs, records and other documentation as required.
- Maintain regular communication with internal management regarding samples, schedules, customer requirements, problems, delays, and/or complaints.
- Set up, operate, and organize sample collection equipment.
- Provide technical assistance to customers within realm of capabilities or refer to senior management.
- Recognize non-routine or unusual circumstances and obtain advice from appropriate personnel.
- Observe all applicable roadway laws.
- Maintain vehicle in a presentable manner.
- Handle other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**:

- Ability to follow written and verbal instruction
- Above average attention to detail
- Good verbal communication skills
- Neat legible penmanship and documentation skills
- Ability to operate an automobile and observe all applicable safety protocols and laws

**REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Familiarity with Lehigh Valley area roads and highways

Satisfactory criminal background check

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 - 30 per week
