**Safety Technician**

**Years of Experience: 2+ Years**

**Overview**:
The Safety Technician will support and drive safety efforts and the client’s culture of safety, support safety compliance, accountability, and administer a safety management system.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate as an experienced assistant to an Health, Safety, & Environmental specialist on a project or contract in the field or office
- Assist higher level Health, Safety, & Environmental practices policies and procedures staff in conducting surveys, evaluations, inspections, and investigations of incidents and activities
- Gather data as directed by supervisor to be used to monitor and track Health, Safety, & Environmental practices policies and procedures standards, programs and goals
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- 2+ years direct experience in a safety role
- Working knowledge of safety and health rules, regulations and OSHA standards
- Safety experience in a heavy industrial environment
- Experience with safety management systems
- Commitment to safety in all job aspects
- Ability to take direction and drive both policy and cultural safety standards
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of OSHA VPP, OSHA 500, & OSHA 501
- Knowledge of behavioral based safety programs
- Experience administering first-aid treatment
- Experience involving Workers Compensation case management
- Nationally recognized certifications in safety a plus, such as NCCER: CSSS (Construction Site Safety Supervisor); CSST (Construction Site Safety Technician); FS (Field Safety); ST (Safety Technology)
- First Aid/ CPR a plus

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
