**Duties**:
**SERVICE**

**Qualifications**:
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- Master’s in any biological science **OR**:

- Bachelor’s in any biological science **AND**:

- Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics, or marine science **OR**:

- the equivalent

**DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Educational and/or instructional preparation in anatomy and/or physiology.
- At least 2 years of recent experience teaching anatomy and/or physiology to college students, especially at a community college.
- Ability to adapt to the learning styles and needs of diverse student populations taking a wide range of science courses.
- Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies and technologies that encourage retention while successfully challenging diverse student populations.
- Evidence of developing laboratory curriculum with computer technology delivery and hands-on experience for the student.
- Show evidence of desire and active participation in department, division, and college committees, and in the participatory governance of Long Beach City College.
- Show evidence of desire and ability to take on leadership roles both within the department and in the institution as a whole.
- Evidence of an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Evidence of understanding and/or experience working with Student Learning Outcomes and their assessment.
