**COMPANY DESCRIPTION**:
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, Inc. is a youth development organization that serves children aged six weeks to eighteen years old. Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We deliver on this mission by providing a safe and fun place for children to grow, by offering engaging programs focused on academics, health, and leadership, and by connecting the kids we serve with caring mentors and role models.
**PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THIS ROLE**:
The primary function and responsibility of the Lifeguard is to maintain a safe swimming environment for all Club prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring in the Clubs pool. The lifeguard must be able to ensure safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. The lifeguard must be able to enforce pool policies and be able to communicate effectively why said policies are in place.
**KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities)**:
As a Boys & Girls Club Lifeguard, your responsibilities include:
- Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours
- Regularly testing pool water and documenting results
- Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area and identifying any safety issues throughout shift
- Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions
- Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe
- Maintaining a clean pool environment to include pool deck, locker rooms, and laundry room
- Assisting with getting youth in and our of pool to include monitoring locker room usage
- Maintaining a 1:25 Lifeguard to swimmer ratio
**REQUIRED**:
- Over the age of 18 preferred
- Current lifeguard certification
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred
- Excellent oral communication skills; including the ability to speak and communicate effectively
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with members, coworkers, etc.
- Must pass a background check
**COMPENSATION**:
$16-$19/hour dependent on qualifications.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
