Facilities Tradesman

Duties:

- Gain knowledge and understanding of Park District policies and procedures and see that they are always adhered to.
- Oversee the mechanical maintenance of District facilities. Will conduct all necessary inspections, repairs, and maintenance to all mechanical systems. Will keep all physical aspects of facilities in a well-maintained condition.
- Supervise part time facility maintenance staff.
- Assist the Maintenance Division Manager and Director of Parks & Facilities in developing yearly budgets.
- Develop preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of maintenance activities.
- Review all facility renovation and construction plans with the Maintenance Division Manager.
- Inspect and maintain all outdoor lighting and plumbing systems.
- Work with outside contractors to ensure all construction, repair and maintenance specifications are met.
- Prepare written reports to the Maintenance Division Manager as needed.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

High school graduate. A strong background in electrical, plumbing or carpentry preferred. Effective communication skills in both verbal and written format. Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

This is a full-time (hourly) position working 40+ hours a week.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm with overtime, evenings, weekend, overnight hours, and modified work schedules required, as needed.

This is an at-will position.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
