Custodian (Part-time)

**Position Summary**:
Keep the NEC buildings and grounds in such a state of operating excellence that it presents mínimal problems or interruptions to the educational programs.

The position will be assigned to 112 Sohier Road, Beverly, MA.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop effective and positive relationships with coworkers through daily verbal and/or written communications.
- Custodial functions will include, but not be limited to:
○ Bathroom cleaning and restocking of supply dispensers

○ General cleaning, including kitchens, floors, VCT & carpet, glass, and varied surface cleaning, filling of supply dispensers, and trash removal.

○ Cleaning and disinfecting of horizontal and vertical surfaces in accordance with NEC’s standards.

○ Clean and preserve designated spaces, equipment, etc., throughout the building.

○ Resolve daily work order requests as directed by the Facilities Director.
- During school vacations, perform heavy cleaning of buildings, floor refinishing, projects, and moves as directed by immediate supervisor or Director of Facilities.
- Close the building, secure alarm system(s), turn lights off and perform building checks.
- Assist with snow removal during regular scheduled hours
- Attend field-specific training, meetings, and mandatory NEC events as directed by the immediate supervisor or Director of Facilities. (Training and meetings may be planned outside of the regular schedule.)

**Qualifications**:

- A High School diploma is required.
- A minimum of (1) year of janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.
- Valid driver's license or reliable year-round transportation

**Schedule**:Monday through Friday, 3-7 pm

**Salary**:$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
