**About us**

**The Position**

**Position Start Date**:Classes begin September 2024 but we may have opportunities for you to teach camp or workshops during the summer.

**Qualifications**:

- B.A./B.F.A. in dance or related is preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years of experience teaching dance to children ages 3 - 8.
- A desire for long term work (at least 1 year or more)
- _STRONG_ organization and oral/written communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to Torrance.
- 3 Verifiable references. **Two of your references should have knowledge of your teaching experience with children.**:

- Early education credits a plus, but not required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create & teach fun, engaging lessons that include developmentally appropriate choreography for the age/level you are instructing.
- Attend all staff meetings (5-6 per year).
- Attend all scheduled recital rehearsals and performances.
- Prepare your classes for recital: Costumes, Music, Choreography, Lighting, Rehearsal.
- Interact with families regarding their child's class (recital details, child's progress, etc).

**Pay**:$25 - $32 per class commensurate with experience and qualifications. Instructors are hired as 1099, independent contractors. We do not compensate for travel.

**Additional Pay**: Instructors receive additional pay during show seasons and staff meetings.
