**24 Collision Center of Brockton **is looking for the perfect **Body Shop Paint Prepper** to join our team.

$20.00-$28.00 an Hour depending on experience

- Experience in body shop/automotive paint prepping preferred

**Position Summary**:
Prepares new and repaired body parts and bodies of vehicles for paint in accordance with factory and dealership quality specifications and time standards. Ensures that parts are prepped for paint correctly and efficiently and that the Collision Center maintains a consistently high level of safety and customer satisfaction that is consistent with Route 24 Auto Group’s core philosophies, principles, and values.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
- Removes rust from metal, and grease and dirt from work surface.
- Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
- Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
- Mixes paint according to specifications.
- Keeps prepping area clean, neat, and tidy at all times.
- Assist appraisers, receptionist, body techs, and painters on completing required tasks.
- Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
- Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
- May be asked to help with detailing before customer pick up on occasion
- Other tasks as assigned.
