Taper/ Laborer/ Ceilings

Job Overview:
**Duties**:

- Prepare surfaces by removing old paint or wallpaper, cleaning, and sanding as needed
- Smooth out compound using trowels and other hand tools to achieve a seamless finish
- Repair damaged drywall by patching holes and cracks
- Ensure proper adhesion of tape to prevent future cracking or peeling
- Sand surfaces to create a smooth texture in preparation for painting or wallpapering
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment used in the taping process

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Taper or similar role in the restoration industry
- Strong knowledge of drywall installation techniques and materials
- Proficient in tile laying, carpentry, and general maintenance person skills
- Familiarity with water damage restoration and mold remediation processes is a plus
- Skilled in caulking and masonry work for seamless transitions between surfaces
- Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Pay: $15.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Construction: 1 year (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Antioch, IL (required)

Ability to Relocate:

- Antioch, IL: Relocate before starting work (required)
