Kenworth Northeast is currently looking for an experienced **Assistant Parts Manager **to work at our new **Smithfield, RI** location. The Parts Counter Sales Representative will be responsible for assisting all customers and mechanics in securing needed parts and supplies. The Parts Counter Sales Rep will also be accountable for achieving the monthly sales and gross profit forecasts, and for seeking and soliciting parts sales.
- **This position has a starting pay range of $25.00-$28.00/ hour**

**How You Will Impact Our Organization**
- Is familiar with all policies, procedures, and standards as they relate to the Parts Department. Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly communicated, understood, and effectively applied within the department.
- Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities of the Parts Department.
- Monitors daily activities to ensure positive customer relations are met.
- Reviews and appraises the results of activities within the department and makes suggestions of appropriate action, as necessary, to the Parts Manager.
- Monitors and works with Inventory Control to ensure we are taking maximum advantage of all inventory purchases, while operating within the Company’s inventory control management standards.
- Reviews and approves special sales, policy adjustments, payables, end of day and questionable returns within guidelines established by the Parts Manager.
- Keeps Parts Manager informed of activities of competition, market conditions, and department operation.
- May assist in building/equipment maintenance and housekeeping task.
- Promotes safe work habits. Reports any safety and security violations to the Parts Manager.
- Assumes responsibility for development and rotation of displays.
- Assures that all paperwork flows smoothly from the Parts Department to other departments, branches and corporate, as requested.
- Controls time cards and overtime excesses.
- Other duties assigned by supervisor.

- Requires at least two years’ experience in the Parts Department with thorough knowledge of truck parts
- Must be service oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous supervisory experience, preferred
- Must have a can-do attitude
- Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment

- Problem solving orientation
