**Schedule: Fulltime Monday-Friday or Tuesday
- Saturday 8hr shift**

**Toxicology Technologist Job Description**:
The Toxicology Technologist is involved in the preparation of urine and oral fluid patient samples for analysis by AU LC-MS/MS using robotic liquid handler (TECAN) and responsible for review and interpretation of data according to established procedures. Utilizes scientific principles as well as technical, procedural, and problem-solving aptitudes for day-to-day laboratory technical operations, quality control, instrument maintenance, quality assurance, corrective action, test result correlation, and clinical laboratory related continuing education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Accurately performs and interprets data and results of moderate complexity clinical laboratory tests utilizing theoretical knowledge and independent judgment in addition to established protocol, techniques and equipment manuals. Receive specimen from accessioning, centrifuge and prepare run plates using TECAN. Prepare and fill mobile phase, clean and run AU, LCMS. Load the prepared places on instruments. Communicates laboratory data and pertinent technical information to supervisor in an accurate and timely fashion. Includes verbal as well as electronic means. Participate in development of protocols, lab manuals, new instrumentation or other laboratory developmental activities.

**Toxicology Tech Requirements**:

- Bachelor's (preferred) MLS Certification from ASCP (preferred)
- Minimum of High school diploma and experience in clinical laboratory science, biological science, or appropriately related field required..
- Experience/training in interpretation of LC-MS/MS chromatographic and Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) screening test results preferred.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands, talk, hear.
- The job requires frequent walking, sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
- The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
