**Position Title**: Livestock Attendant

**Rate of Pay**:$18.50 per hour

**Position Purpose**:
Performs a variety of unskilled manual labor to maintain the cleanliness and operation of livestock exhibits and facilities during the annual OC Fair.

**Essential Functions**:

- Performs heavy manual labor and other tasks as needed to maintain the appearance of the livestock area.
- Operates equipment including forklifts, manlifts, tractors, carts and hand tools.
- Maintains and repairs various structures and exhibits in the Livestock area
- Assists with the set-up and dismantling of exhibits, tents, fencing and special events.
- Assists with the loading, unloading and weigh-in of animals.
- Works directly with the public to answer questions regarding Livestock exhibits and programs and provide directions to other locations on the fairgrounds.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess a valid California drivers license.
- Experience in maintenance and repairs required.
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment such as forklift, manlift, tractor, and carts, in addition to hand tools in a safe and proper manner necessary.
- Familiarity with common safety practices associated with livestock required.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills a must.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment necessary.
- Must be available to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair.

**Special Qualifications**:

- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.

**Preferences**:

- Knowledge of livestock show office procedures highly preferred_._
