Purpose of Position

The Global FP&A Director leads our forecast and budget process with responsibility to deliver standard monthly reporting on the company’s financial results and forecast to Gems Setra leadership and Fortive Corporate. This role will also partner with business leaders on understanding, evaluating, and driving financial performance. A successful FP&A Director must bring a point of view to the forecast process, possess a strong focus on accuracy/timeliness, and a highly developed drive for continuous improvement.

Essential Functions

Leads the annual budget and strategic plan process from financial target setting to building budget schedules and deck to facilitate clarity with Gems Setra leadership and Fortive Corporate
Develop and present to President and CFO updated monthly sales and orders forecast with deep understanding of book turn rates, backlog availability, and past due backlog reduction assumptions.
Partners with site Finance Directors to review global consolidated forecast, understand changes, and find opportunities to drive margin expansion.
Coach, mentor, and develop FP&A team.
Key player in the monthly close process to ensure global delivery of on time reporting of our monthly financial results and updated financial forecast to leadership.
Partner with Operations and Sales leaders to drive monthly PSI (Production, Sales and Inventory) process to align our commercial and production assumptions to deliver to our customers and support our forecasting process.
Partner with Product Management team to set annual pricing targets as well as measure and track performance to targets throughout the year.
Partner with Sales and HR leadership to set annual Sales Incentive Plan targets designed to get results in our orders and sales performance. Reviews monthly tracking of actuals vs targets.
Ad-hoc analysis to understand business performance on a variety of factors including material margin, labor productivity, indirect spend, and fixed cost leverage as needed depending on monthly business performance, trends, and requests from functional business partners.
Drive business analysis and case development for company initiatives and large capital projects.
Education & Experience Required

Minimum 5-7 years in finance or accounting with preference towards roles within a manufacturing environment.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, ore related field.
Proven understanding of current industry standard business intelligence solutions - including Power BI and Business Objects.
Robust knowledge of US GAAP.
Excellent people skills and effective communications skills.
Strong analytical skills to diagnose and troubleshoot sophisticated datasets.
High energy, bias for action with continuous improvement mentality; recognizes and resolves issues.
Team-player demeanor with the ability and willingness to tackle challenges.
Excellent digital literacy, particularly MS Excel and ERP system experience (JDE and One Stream ideal).
