**About The Role**:
Youth Advocates play a pivotal role in our group home dynamic. Advocates are positive mentors who guide and make a difference in youth lives. You will be aiding in skill development in all areas of their life such as education, health, housing, employment, and relationships.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Follow guidance from the Group Home Supervisor on shift.
- Monitor and engage with residents to ensure compliance with program requirements.
- Ensure that any resident wishing to have access to religious activities can do so if desired.
- Ensure residents receive weekly allowance money.
- Administer resident medications, according to agency policies and procedures.
- Meet with direct supervisor consistently for supervision sessions.
- Meet on-call requirements.
- During extreme emergencies, when extra coverage is necessary to maintain resident safety, staff may be required to work additional hours or a “double shift”. This process will be kept at a minimum and occur on a rotating basis.
- Schedule may include working holidays. Applicants might be asked to work 2nd or 3rd shift as well as potential weekends.
- Complete other duties as assigned relative to the position..

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or GED and at least one (1) year of work experience with children
- Eligibility under current PA legal and regulatory requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
- PA Child Abuse Clearance, PA State Police Clearance, PA FBI Clearance
- Sensitivity to service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
- Ability to successfully complete Safe Crisis Management curriculum

**Physical Requirements**:
The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, and sit. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner and maintain the standard of care that is appropriate for this position. Must be able to physically respond to residents who are engaging in unsafe behavior. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met.
