**Curious Jane is looking for Camp Counselors for our Creative Camp for Girls**

Curious Jane Camp is for girls who like to make things And we are popping up in Long Beach this July with a small-and-mighty two-week pop-up program. We are seeking a couple fantastic Counselors to assist our Lead Instructors.

**About Curious Jane**

We run project-based summer camps for girls ages 5 to 11, all revolving around science + engineering + design. Everything is hands-on, colorful, fun and inventive... we build confidence through making things

With weekly themes like Spa Science, Playground Design, Room Makeover, Kitchen Chemistry and Miniatures World -- it’s all about making fun things and making things fun

**About the Long Beach Program and Position**

Curious Jane is Brooklyn-based and entering its 17th summer of camp. We are launching our first summer in Long Beach with the two weeks of July 8-12 and July 15-19 at Fremont Elementary School. We offer 3 creative classes each week (for girls entering grades K-1st, 2nd-3rd and 4th-6th), and will would love to have 2 to 3 counselors join us to support the lead instructors and bring their energy and creativity

**Responsibilities and Expectations**
- Assist the lead instructor in class sizes of 10 - 14 girls
- Be familiar with, and prepared to help with, all projects for the class week. (Instructors are responsible for leading the projects.)
- Work with other counselors to lead the afternoon Collaborative Period for the campers
- Work with the rest of the staff to create and build a supportive and fun environment for the girls
- Be available for the full day, Mon-Fri, 8:45am - 3:45pm (with breaks)

**Qualifications**
- Age 18+ and a college student / high school graduate (Counselor)
- Age 16-18 and a high school student (Jr Counselor)
- Experience working with children; babysitting, at camp or any other creative or educational setting
- Good communication skills and openness to collaboration at all levels

**Compensation**
- $400-$500/week
