**Position Title**: Summer Literature Camp Teacher - 5 OpeningsReports To: Summer Lit Camp Coordinators (Mr. Doyle, Mr. Rulon-Miller)Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and InstructionPosition Goals: Support students grades 1-6 with literacy skills over the summer months in a camp atmosphere.Responsibilities: The teacher will work with similar grade level students to provide direct explicit services to students needing reading assistanceDevelop daily lesson plans for small groups of identified studentsManage, plan, implement, and assess the reading flexible grouping model using fun, engaging activitiesAssists struggling students to improve their literacy skills Maintain accurate records to demonstrate student growthDates: July 8th - August 15th (Mondays thru Thursdays) at the Molin School, student hours 8:30 -11:30 am, teacher hours 8:15 - 11:45The literacy teachers preferred background and experience include: Teaching experience in a variety of school settings Knowledge of Common Core literacy standards Experience in the use and analysis of a variety of assessment tools.creative planning and storytelling skillsCompensation: $1000.00 stipend/bi-weekly (28 hrs teaching/ planning)Equal Opportunity Employer: Newburyport Public Schools is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws.
