Medical Assitant

**Overview**

Fast-paced well established medical practice seeks an experienced MA. This role is responsible for clinical such as preparing rooms and patients for examination, H & P intake, assisting Physicians with exams and relative administrative tasks. Surgical scheduling experience is helpful. This is an opportunity to join a wonderful group of physicians and a fun team of office support staff.

**Job Duties**
- Prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and record patients' health history
- Assist physician with medical treatments, procedures, x-rays, and exams
- Prepare equipment and clean instruments
- Fit patients for walkers, braces, orthotics etc. and assist ordering and with set-up.
- Manage prior authorizations for medications, MRI’s, CTs
- Coordinates with prospective surgical patients to determine date, time frame and facility
- Provides support and navigate patient throughout surgical process prepares surgical information packets
- Obtain pre-certifications and referrals as required by patient's health insurance

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Experience with eClinicalWorks or similar EMR
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited medical assistance certification program preferred
- Friendly and responsible with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner, even under pressure
- Must be detail-oriented, organized and pleasant to work with.
- Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
- Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times

**Compensation & Work Hours**

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
