Job Summary:
Key Responsibilities:

- **Baking**: Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, cupcakes, pastries, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standards.
- **Decorating**: Skillfully decorate cakes and other baked items using various icing techniques, such as piping, fondant work, and edible decorations, to create visually appealing designs.
- **Customization**: Consult with customers to understand their preferences and requirements for custom cake orders, and execute designs that meet their expectations.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure that all baked goods meet quality standards in terms of taste, texture, and appearance, and adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor and maintain inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, and communicate any needs to management in a timely manner.
- **Cleanliness**: Keep work area clean and organized, including washing dishes, sanitizing equipment, and maintaining a hygienic workspace.
- **Innovation**: Stay updated on current baking and decorating trends, techniques, and products, and contribute creative ideas to enhance our bakery offerings.
- **Customer Service**: Provide friendly and attentive customer service, including answering questions, taking orders, and offering recommendations.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Cake Decorator or Baker in a bakery or similar environment.
- Strong baking and decorating skills, with a portfolio of past work showcasing creative designs.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as needed.
- Creativity and artistic flair, with a passion for bringing ideas to life through baking and decorating.
- Food handler's permit or certification (preferred).

Education and Training:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal training in baking and/or cake decorating from a culinary institute or vocational school (preferred).
- On-the-job training or apprenticeship experience in a bakery or pastry shop.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
