**United Methodist Communities at Bishop Taylor, **a senior affordable housing community located in East Orange, NJ is seeking a **Maintenance Associate.**
- The _**_Maintenance Associate _**_performs repairs to the site, maintains the community (both internally and externally), equipment, and ensures a well-maintained building and grounds._
**Requirements for a Maintenance Associate**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years experience in carpentry, electrical and plumbing preferred. Documented apprenticeship or vocational schooling in lieu of two years' experience preferred.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of articles less than or equal to 35 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of articles greater than 35 pounds with the assistance of a device or lift.
- Driver's License.
**Responsibilities for a Maintenance Associate**:
- Perform building maintenance which includes minor electrical, carpentry, plumbing duties and apartment turnover.
- Completion of work orders as assigned.
- Preventative maintenance of all equipment as assigned.
- Responsible for completion of work orders assigned.
- Responsible for preventative maintenance on all equipment as assigned. Maintaining of logs for preventative maintenance.
- Responsible for overall cleaning and sanitizing of offices, public bathrooms, common areas, kitchen grounds, trash and recycling, apartment turnover and all basic cleaning.
- Responsible for checking Facilities for Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance assigned, closing out when completed and includes any parts used.
