In this current school year, we are offering after school classes at Laurel, Encinal and Oak Knoll Elementary School.

After School Teacher

**Responsibilities**:

- Must be available to work Monday from 2:20 - 4:20pm, Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00pm, Wednesday from 2:30-4:00pm, Thursdays from 1:00-2:30pm and Friday from 2:20 - 4:20pm. (Closed on school holidays and during the winter and summer break while school is not in session)
- Classroom management and create a positive, inclusive learning environment for students
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to discuss student progress
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum and instructional materials
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom/workspace
- conflict resolution/peacemaking

**Experience**:

- Experience working with children in a tutoring, daycare, or physical education setting
- Knowledge of teaching best practices and willingness to follow the school’s policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Arts and Crafts, Jewelry Making and Calligraphy and Brush Painting (preferred)
- Knowledge of child welfare and development principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedicated work ethic; proactive, responsible, and reliable
- Well-organized and committed
- Ability to be adaptable and successfully multi-task
- Effective in developing confidence and motivation in children
