The Business Specialist is responsible for human resources transaction processing, including preparing appointments, time and labor, purchasing, and expense reports. pre-award and post-award administration of externally-funded projects, and administration of financial systems and controls for the School of Communication and Information.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Two (2) years of professional experience in a financial/accounting function, preferably in an institution of higher education.

**Certifications/Licenses**

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Demonstrates comprehensive Computer fluency, especially familiarity with spreadsheet and database software.
- High level of organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and a strong customer service orientation.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Five (5) years of professional experience in a financial/accounting function, preferably in an institution of higher education.
- Knowledge of university policies and procedures.
