Supervisory Surface Maintenance Specialist

**Duties**:
As a SUPERVISORY SURFACE MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST GS-1601-11, you will exercise administrative and technical supervision over one or more surface maintenance facilities, e.g., CSMS, MATES, UTES and/or FMS. Develop, implement, and oversee the quality assurance program for assigned surface maintenance facilities. ) Provide technical guidance to assigned maintenance activities through coordinated assistance or evaluation visits. Oversee hazardous waste/industrial hygiene programs for maintenance facilities supervised. Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

**GENERAL EXPERIENCE**: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems.

**SPECIAL NOTE**:Per the Merit Promotion and Placement Plan (MP3) if there are more than 15 qualified applicants for each position, by category, a KSA board will be convened in accordance with Chapter 4 of the MP3.
