**Department**: Nursing

**Status**:Full Time Days and Part Time Evenings

**S**hift**: 8am-4:30pm and 3pm-9pm, includes every other weekend

**Pay Rate**: starting at $16/hr

**What do I need as an Activities Assistant with Messiah Lifeways?**
- Experience in recreation or related field (Human Services), preferred
- Experience working with older adults, preferred

**What will I do as an Activities Assistant with Messiah Lifeways?**
- Coordinates and conducts life activities, focusing on meaningful, resident preferred activities.
- Plans, organizes, and leads group and individualized age-appropriate programs, providing activities for residents who stay in their room and/or residents who are at a lower functional level, meeting Federal and State regulations.
- Motivates and assists residents to become part of neighborhood life if they choose so.
- Plans for and accompanies residents on trips outside of Messiah Lifeways and works cooperatively with the Transportation Coordinator to make transportation arrangements.
- Assists in the dining room and provides opportunities for socialization.
- Transports and/or assists residents to and from programs.
- Aware of the safety of residents and medical restrictions during all activities.
