**MTSS Interventionist (Multi-Tiered System of Supports Interventionist)**
- Northern High_

**Reports To**: Building Principal

**Pay Grade**: $16.00 per hour

**Schedule**: 7 hours per day

**Duration**: 2024-2025 school year

**Job Summary**: The MTSS interventionist is responsible for providing targeted, proactive intervention and support to students struggling with social/emotional (SEL) and behavioral challenges. The MTSS interventionist supports classroom teachers and the building principal in making data-informed decisions to meet students’ SEL and behavioral needs.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Excellent organizational, communication, and recordkeeping skills
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of students, schools, teachers and classrooms
- Experience working with secondary school age youth

**Essential Job Functions**:

- Build trusting relationships with students to allow support of challenging behaviors
- Systematically communicating student progress with classroom teachers
- Attending staff meetings as requested
- Attending data review meetings as requested
- Attending professional learning as requested
- Work with students to support positive behaviors
- Work with students to provide strategies to self-monitor positive behaviors and emotions
- Participate in the school-based Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team
- Consistent and reliable attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Physical Requirements**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

**Work Environment**:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of students.

**Mental Functions**:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
