Maintenance Clerk

**Overview**

**Pay: $13.00 per hour**

**Schedule**:Full time, 8-hour shifts

**Essential Duties**:

- Perform varied duties including performing data entry functions.
- Enter work requests and preventative maintenance information into maintenance management systems.
- Receive, record, and distribute work orders to maintenance staff as directed by supervisor.
- Performs duties including typing correspondence, form letters, accountability forms, status reports and other required forms in a timely manner.
- Maintains files on department records, forms and correspondence sent, received and/or requiring further action.
- Schedule vendors as directed by supervisor to perform work outside the scope of facility staff.
- Proofread records and forms; copy needed information from one record to another as required.
- Receive telephone calls and visitors, tactfully referring to the proper individual.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
- One (1) year related experience, including proficiency with various word processing, spreadsheets, data bases, and computer data entry experience preferred.
- A valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
- Must successfully complete and pass annual background check and in-service training requirements, both of which must be approved by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
