**TAX MAP TECHNICIAN - **Chenango County has a 2024 opening for a TAX MAP TECHNICIAN. An employee in this class operates a digital mapping system and performs related office work in the preparation and maintenance of computer generated tax maps. The Tax Map Technician calculates drafting computations and uses computer software to plot changes in property lines onto digitized tax maps. The incumbent works with relative independence under the general supervision of the Director, Real Property Tax Services or the Senior Tax Map Technician who provides advice and assistance in unusual or difficult cases. Work is reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with applicable State specifications. Supervision over the work of others is not a responsibility of an employee in this class. Does related work as required.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
Either:
(A) Possession of an Associate’s Degree or higher in civil engineering technology, industrial technology, design and drafting technology, computer-aided drafting or design, or a closely related field, OR
(B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma AND two years full-time paid experience or its’ part-time equivalent in computer-aided drafting, tax map preparation or surveying work which involved laying out or mapping property lines; OR
(C) An equivalent of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above

The position starts in 2024 at $20.43 per hour and a full benefits package is included.
