**Summer Camp Counselor***

**Position Number Available: 50-60**

**Seasonal Position
- 40hrs/week; $14-17/hr.**

**Minimum Age: 18+**

**Job Overview**:
Join our dynamic team as a Sports Summer Camp Counselor and make a positive impact on the lives of young athletes As a counselor, you will be responsible for facilitating an engaging and inclusive sports program, fostering a supportive and safe environment, and promoting teamwork and skill development among camp participants.

**Responsibilities**:
Plan and Execute Sports Activities:

- Develop and implement age-appropriate sports activities and drills.
- Ensure a variety of sports are offered to cater to different interests and skill levels.
- Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants. Supervise and Mentor Campers:

- Provide supervision and guidance during sports sessions and other camp activities.
- Foster positive relationships with campers, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Act as a mentor and positive role model, encouraging personal growth and development.

Ensure Safety and Well-being:

- Maintain a safe and secure environment, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
- Be attentive to the physical and emotional well-being of campers.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies or incidents. Collaborate with Camp Staff:

- Work collaboratively with fellow counselors, coaches, and camp administrators.
- Attend regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding camper progress and concerns.

Promote Sportsmanship and Fair Play:

- Instill the values of sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for others.
- Teach campers the importance of teamwork and cooperation on and off the field.

**Qualifications**:
Education and Experience:

- High school diploma required; college coursework in sports science, education, or a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience working with children in a camp or recreational setting. Sports Knowledge:

- Strong knowledge and proficiency in multiple sports.
- Ability to teach fundamental skills and strategies across various sports. Communication Skills:

- Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate campers.
- Clear and effective written communication for parent updates and reports. Leadership and Teamwork:

- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Enthusiastic and energetic, with a passion for inspiring young athletes. Background Check:

- Successful completion of a background check is required.
