**SUMMARY**

Whittier First Day is partnered with the Department of Health Services (DHS) and their Housing for Health (HFH) Program to provide Interim Housing Services Stabilization for eligible Los Angeles County DHS participants at the new Rancho 600 site on the campus of the Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center until permanent housing placement is secured. Whitter First Day will facilitate access to temporary housing through referrals. Temporary housing may include, but not be limited to, county-funded Interim Housing Stabilization (HIS), Continuum of Care (CoC) crisis/bridge housing, privately funded shelters, motel vouchers, or other temporary housing opportunities. Whittier First Day will provide IHS Stabilization throughout the duration of participants' placement in temporary housing.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide high-quality IHS Stabilization and health/mental health care monitoring until a participant is transferred to an alternate interim housing bed or housing arrangement or secures a permanent housing placement.
- Provide person-centered customer service that is sensitive to the range of medical and behavioral health challenges faced by participants working to secure and maintain IHS Stabilization. This includes ensuring IHS Stabilization is tailored to each participant, with ongoing reassessments to ensure relevant needs are being identified, appropriate, and delivered to meet each participant's needs.
- Utilize a Trauma-Informed approach without reinforcing stigma and shame to address the consequences of trauma and facilitate healing through the core values of safety, trustworthiness, choice, collaboration, and empowerment. This includes providing low-threshold services with mínimal amounts of paperwork needed before initiating service delivery and ensuring that IHS Stabilization is driven by the basic recognition that participants will have access to services that recognize their strengths.
- Employ a "whatever it takes approach" to assist participants in their transition from homelessness to interim and permanent housing which includes locating the referred participant; engaging with the participant to offer Case Management Services; offering services to meet basic and immediate needs (e.g., food, clothing, and other essential necessities, etc.), and anything else needed by the participant or as directed by the County.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field of study from an accredited university.
- Minimum of two years full-time experience working with the homeless, preferably those living with mental illness and/or substance addictions.
- Valid registration or licensure with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Current, valid California Driver’s Licenses with an acceptable driving record and reliable vehicle.
- Able to transport members in your vehicle.
- Outstanding clinical and strong team-building skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, and computer skills.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and team building skills.
- Required: Successful completion of background screening (including drug and alcohol screening) and an updated Tuberculosis Test (within the last 6 months)
- Preferred: Written and oral proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Required: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Pay: $62,400.00 - $66,560.00 per year
