Substitute Teacher

Gesher Jewish Day School is looking for a **short-term substitute** to work as an assistant teacher in our preschool classroom for the 2023-2024 school year, from **May 6, 2024 to June 11, 2024**.

We are a warm, PK-8 Jewish community school dedicated to nurturing a growth mindset and cultivating joy. A caring classroom environment with high standards and hands-on learning experiences are hallmarks of Gesher JDS. We are located on a large wooded campus with a garden, hiking trails, vernal pond, and a meadow.

Hours: 8:10-3:45 Monday - Friday

$20-22 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

**Assistant Teachers at Gesher are expected to**:

- Maintain open and honest communication with their partner teacher(s)
- Quickly learn and maintain classroom and school routines
- Be a strong model of communication, patience, and flexibility
- Promote development of students’ academic, social, and emotional abilities and skills
- Execute activities that encourage observation, questioning, cooperation, and investigation
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators

**Qualifications**:

- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university, MAT/M.Ed preferred
- Experience in the classroom
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Working knowledge of google suite preferred

Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
