LEGEND is currently seeking applicants for the following positions:
**Chemist I**

The Chemist I position is located in the Metals Department. It is an entry-level analytical position that requires a Bachelor’s degree in a science related field.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Bachelor’s degree in science related field (Chemistry preferred)
- 0-3 years laboratory experience
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Ability to work with chemicals
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to stand for long periods of time

**GENERAL**:

- Performs sample preparation procedures and instrumental analysis under supervision.

**SPECIFIC** **DUTIES**:

- Perform methods, data recording, and data validation using prescribed methods.
- Organize incoming projects to meet holding and client time schedules.
- Equipment operation and maintenance under the supervision of a more senior level chemist.
- Manage work flow, etc. in an efficient manner.
- Participates in QA/QC requirements and activities.
- Maintain familiarity with and comply with environmental regulations.
- Perform other job duties as required.
- Training will be provided for all tasks performed.

**HOURS**
- Monday - Friday 8a.m. - 5p.m.
- Some overtime, dependent on workload (usually no more than 3-5 hours per week as needed).
- Occasional weekend work required.

**COMPENSATION**
- $20.00/hour starting. Performance reviews are conducted annually.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
