**POSITION PURPOSE**
- Performs venipunctures, gives patients instructions to properly collect non-blood specimens and performs non-technical and clerical functions related to specimen collection. Performs point of care (POC) testing at the patient bedside.-
**MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED**- High School or Equivalent (GED)-
**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**- Entry Level-
**LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED**- N/A-
**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED**- Ability to read, write, hear, speak, and comprehend the English language.-
**PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES**- Collection of blood specimens from various patient types using defined venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques. Status recording of the collection date and time in the Laboratory Information System.-
- Instruction of patients in the collection of non-blood specimens.-
- Performs point of care testing at the patient bedside.-
- Clear communication with patients, physicians and fellow employees.-
- Maintenance of the assigned work area, including disinfections and stocking supplies.Location: Froedtert South, Inc. - LABORATORY
