**Summer Caregiver/Direct Support Professional**

Join our team as a Summer Caregiver for Individuals with Cognitive Disabilities In this role, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with cognitive disabilities, empowering them to lead fulfilling lives while ensuring their safety and well-being. We will provide training

**Responsibilities**:

- **Personal Care Assistance**: Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while promoting independence and dignity.
- **Companionship**: Engage with individuals in meaningful social interactions, fostering companionship and emotional support.
- **Medication Management**:Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately.
- **Meal Preparation**:Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individuals' dietary needs and preferences.
- **Transportation**:Safely transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and outings.
- **Assistance with Activities**:Assist individuals in participating in recreational and therapeutic activities, promoting physical and mental stimulation.
- **Monitoring and Documentation**:Observe and document individuals' behaviors, progress, and any changes in condition, communicating effectively with supervisors and healthcare professionals.
- **Safety and Crisis Intervention**:Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies or challenging behaviors, implementing de-escalation techniques and following established protocols.

**Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled college student with a passion for caregiving and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, adapt to changing situations, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and training as required by regulatory standards.
- Previous experience in caregiving, healthcare, or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Must pass TB test
- Must have reliable transportation
- Drivers license (preferred)

**Pay**:

- $15.00 on weekdays
- Time and a half of $22.50 on weekends
- After doing all the math, your average pay could range between $16.88 and $17.50

**Physical Demands**:

- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
- Perform tasks that involve bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching for accessing spaces and performing ground-level activities
- Walk, stand, and engage in continuous physical activities during cleaning, maintenance, and outdoor tasks
