Medical Assistant/lpn

We are looking for a Medical Assistant or LPN. If you're looking for a fast paced work environment, this may be the position for you. We are a large and growing Rheumatology practice. This position is responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of our medical practice. You will support doctors, mid-levels, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. You will be primarily assigned to one provider, but will occasionally be asked to cover another in the event your provider is out of the office or another MA/LPN is out.
You will follow your doctor to Sarasota (two days) and to Bradenton (two days).
**Responsibilities**:
- Room patients: obtain vitals, update medical history, medication list, pharmacy, etc as needed.
- Complete MIPS measures on each patient, fill out appropriate forms such as MDHAQ/BASDAI/SLEDAI/CDAI/etc as applicable.
- Prepare and clean exam rooms.
- Unpack samples/supplies, put away and re-stock as needed/daily.
- Prepare for appointments making sure all appropriate labs and imagine are received.
- Appropriately interact with patients, providers, and staff.
- Respond to patient phone calls and provider tasks in a timely manner.
- Assist provider during exams/procedures as needed, administer injections as directed (primarily LPNs for injections).
- Assist in optimizing your providers schedule as directed by the provider.
- Perform other duties/tasks as assigned by management.
**Skills and qualifications**:
- Certification in Medical Assisting (CMA/RMA/CCMA/etc) or Licensure for LPN and above.
- Prior clinical experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical office systems and procedures, EMR
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Friendly, team player, excellent collaborator, and communicator.
**Preferred qualifications**:
- Familiarity with Rheumatology, biologics
- Experience with NextGen
- Desire to grow within the company
