The Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU,Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. With an annual budget of more than $21M, the AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union, the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC), and administers the contract for the Wildcat Store (bookstore). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Sustainability and student government. Typically, the AS employs more than 100 full and part-time employees and more than 750 students.

**EVENT AND PROGRAM MANAGER
**SUMMARY**:
This is a program management position with overall responsibility for the general management and administration of the AS Events and Programming department. Under administrative direction the manager oversees overall operations of Associated Students centralized and individual events. This includes the budget, planning, collaboration, organizing, directing, communication, supervising and evaluation of student programs within the department. Certain duties and assignments are fluid and are periodically reviewed and revised based on program needs, program philosophy and staff development.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Manages the day-to-day functions of the AS Programming department.
- Analyzes program effectiveness and develops methods to ensure all events, outreach efforts, communications, trainings, and programs are high quality, well attended, student-centered experiences and meet AS branding standards.
- Supervises the coordination of campus wide and collaborative events on behalf of the Associated Students and leads program involvement to highlight Associated Students (Choose Chico, Chico Preview Day, etc.) including coordination for AS programs.
- Oversees the recruitment, selection, training, mentorship, supervision and evaluation of career and student staff.
- Develops, monitors, and manages the program budget including purchases and reimbursements. This includes bi-monthly timesheet approval for career and student staff.
- Coordinates in collaboration with AS Marketing and Design to support advertising and publicity efforts for programs and events.
- Responsible for the compilation and reporting of student engagement, feedback and participation in AS events including annual presentation of program highlights.
- Organizes data, maintains records and prepares reports.
- Chairs organizational wide collaborative projects and events that bring all AS programmers together to implement diverse, large-scale, and dynamic events on behalf of the Associated Students.
- Develops, manages, and maintains centralized event and programming related platforms including a centralized programming calendar and project management tools.
- Evaluates events, activities, and program related risks. Works with the Risk Manager to ensure appropriate insurance coverage and security is in place as required. Ensures compliance with University policies and procedures and coordination with University Public Events, Facilities Reservations and Risk Management.
- Researches and recommends program ideas. Negotiates with talent/agents. Reviews and prepares contracts in coordination with AS Risk Manager.
- Ensures timely payment of contractors and coordinates written evaluations of events.
- Attends program meetings and events, assisting with on-site production of campus and AS events and as needed.
- Maintains inventory of all event supplies.
- Meets regularly with AS Conference Services, AS programmers, campus stakeholders, operations, and student staff to ensure effective coordination and scheduling of events.
- Develops and maintains effective working and collaborative relationships with the campus community, all areas within the Associated Students, outside venders and general public.
- Campus Security Authority: This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the Clery Act and is required to comply with the requirements of this designation. Training is required and will be provided. Other duties may be assigned.**POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED**:
