**Job Summary**
The Front Office Business Team oversees the front desk. They are responsible for greeting the patients when they check in and help them when they check out. Front Office Business Team must ensure that all procedures, from pulling the correct patient files to filing insurance information, are closely followed so that the dental team can concentrate on the well-being of the patients.
**Specific Front Office Business Team Job Duties**:
- Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner
- Answer phones
- Handle patient scheduling
- Managing new patients, collect necessary info from 1st phone call, sending out new patient paperwork and creating a new patient chart in Dentrix
- Perform insurance verification
- File insurance claims and e-claims
- Submit narratives and additional information to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid insurance claims
- Collect and enter patient payments and inquire on previous balances
- Present treatment and financial responsibilities to patient
- Keep front area and patient bathroom neat and tidy at all times
- Maintain front office inventory and submit supply order
- Collect and distribute mail daily
- Unlock and Lock up front office doors
**Skills/Qualifications**:
Office Supply Management, Verbal Communication, Creating a safe and effective work environment, Organization, Scheduling, Professionalism, Customer focus, Confidentiality, Teamwork
- H.S. Graduate
- Previous dental office experience preferred with some managerial experience, but not necessary.
- Dentrix or other dental software experience preferred
- Customer service skills and experience
- Ability to comprehend established office routines, policies and patient treatment plans
- Ability to keep financial records and perform mathematical tasks
- Knowledge of basic dental terminology, helpful but not necessary
- Understand HIPPA privacy practices
- Good organizational skills and multi-tasked abilities
- Computer skills
- Must be able to learn quickly from oral and written instructions
- Must be dependable
**Personal Qualities**:
- Must be organized and tidy
- Able to work well under pressure
- Ability to communicate well with people in person and on the phone
- Can be trusted with confidential information
- Must be friendly and empathetic with patients
- Able to communicate and get along with other team members
- Maybe other duties assigned as needed.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
