Math Coach

**Who We Are**:
The Chester Children’s Chorus seeks Math Coaches for its 2024 Summer Learning Program.

Founded in 1994 by Dr. John Alston, the Chester Children's Chorus (CCC) provides rigorous music and math education to Chester, Pennsylvania students (grades 3-12). All CCC students are invited to attend the five-week CCC Summer Learning Program on the Swarthmore College campus. Students participate in daily choral music instruction, math practice, dance, art, academic and physical education classes.

**The opportunity**:
Math Coaches work with the Lead Math Teacher to support classroom math instruction for chorus members, grades 3-5; and one-to-one Math Coaching for chorus members, grades 6-12. Math classes and one-to-one coaching take place daily, Monday through Thursday, throughout the Summer Learning Program. Math Coaches report to the Lead Math Teacher.

**Who you are**:

- Participate in pre-camp training session
- Work with a small group or individual students in elementary level classes (grades 3 - 5)
- Work one-to-one with middle and high school students for 60 minutes per day
- Keep daily records of individual student progress

**What you bring**:

- High school diploma required; some college preferred
- Strong mathematical content knowledge
- Interest and experience working with young people

**Act 153 Required by Position**

This position may regularly interact with minors. Under Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law, (23 Pa. Cons. Stat. --6301, et seq.) employees who have direct contact with minors are required to obtain the following background clearances prior to the start of employment:

- Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History (PATCH) through the Pennsylvania State Police
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (PACA) through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services
- FBI Criminal History Background Check (FBI Fingerprint).
