Development Director - Kidstock Creative Theater in Winchester Kidstock Creative Theater has been a pillar of artistic exploration and youth development in Winchester for over three decades. As we embark on our next chapter, we seek a passionate and driven Development Director to lead our growth and expansion goals, drive strategic initiatives, and shape our future programs. Reporting directly to the Creative Founding Director, the Development Director will play a crucial role in expanding our community impact, fundraising efforts, and curating a talented teaching staff.

**Position Overview**:
In addition to overseeing growth and expansion goals, the Development Director will lead our fundraising efforts, drive strategic initiatives, and curate our teaching staff.

Working closely with the Education Director and Operations Manager, the Development Director will ensure the recruitment and retention of highly qualified instructors who share our commitment to fostering creativity, confidence, and collaboration in children and young adults.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support Kidstock Creative Theater's growth and expansion goals, including grant writing, donor cultivation, special events, and online fundraising campaigns.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, and government agencies to secure funding for new programs and initiatives.
- Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, events, and initiatives to engage existing supporters and attract new donors.
- Oversee grant prospecting, proposal writing, and reporting processes to secure grant funding from government agencies, foundations, and other grant-making organizations.
- Lead the search, interview, and hiring process for teaching staff positions, ensuring alignment with Kidstock's mission, values, and programmatic needs.
- Coordinate onboarding and training activities for new teaching staff members, providing resources and support to facilitate their success.
- Develop and implement performance evaluation processes to assess teaching staff effectiveness and provide constructive feedback and support.
- Serve as a steward of teaching staff morale and professional development, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
- Curate a diverse and inclusive teaching staff that reflects the communities we serve and values diversity in perspectives and experiences.
- Collaborate with the Education Director to ensure teaching staff alignment with program goals, curriculum standards, and student outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to manage teaching staff schedules, assignments, and logistics, ensuring efficient program delivery and resource allocation.
- Represent Kidstock Creative Theater in recruitment and networking events to attract top teaching talent and promote our organization as an employer of choice.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in arts education, teaching pedagogy, and staff development to enhance our teaching staff recruitment and retention efforts.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in education, arts administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, program development, or arts administration, with a demonstrated track record of success.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate Kidstock's mission, values, and programmatic needs compellingly.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, and managing staff in an educational or arts organization preferred.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience recruiting and retaining diverse staff members.
- Familiarity with arts education curriculum standards, teaching pedagogy, and program evaluation processes.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and needs while maintaining a strategic focus on long-term goals.
