Base After School Program Instructor

LAMB is looking for professionals who are passionate about working with children and are excited about making a difference in their lives. Our BASE (Before and After School Enrichment) Instructors exhibit enthusiasm, a caring attitude, and a love of learning while supporting developmentally appropriate academic and extracurricular activities in a safe environment.
LAMB’s Mission: To create a self-directed learning environment in which children build a foundation of knowledge essential for a lifetime of learning while developing bi-literacy in English and Spanish.
The BASE Instructor supports the school’s mission by preparing our students to become leaders and lifelong learners. This position works to provide students in our Before and After School Enrichment (BASE) program opportunities to further develop their potential in an after school setting by organizing and implementing after school activities. This is a part-time position with 20 hours/week option (2-6pm) or 30 hours/week (7-9am & 2-6pm).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver enrichment activities for students participating in the program
- Supervise students in the program and maintain a safe and enriching environment for all students
- Report concerns regarding student behavior to the BASE Director
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- English or Spanish (bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred)
- Experience working in a school setting with young children
- Energetic, flexible, imaginative, and eager to work in a bilingual and multicultural public school
- Experience planning and implementing extracurricular activities in a school or community-based setting
- Ability to work with students of various abilities, including those with various identified exceptionalities
- Possess the ability to work in a multicultural, bilingual environment

- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels, and to hear and understand speech on the telephone.
- Ability to speak clearly in audible tones so that others may understand.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision
- FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt, 10 -Month
