**Description**:
Estimator/Purchasing will support all departments. Responsibilities will include reviewing blueprints, specifications, and related documents, gathering subcontractor proposals, calculating project cost, and building proposals and estimates. Work with sales team to layout plans for permitting using AutoCAD. The estimator will be involved in preconstruction activities and supplier/subcontractor selection. The estimator will work with the project manager(s) to schedule, control cost and value, and manage against the estimated cost of a project.

Working knowledge of Excel

Perform accurate quantity take offs from plans and specifications.

Obtain quotes and define scope of work for subcontractors and suppliers.

Communicate effectively with subcontractors and suppliers.

Explore documentation to gain an understanding of project requirements.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key subcontractors and suppliers.

Coordination with Project Managers on scheduling of projects.

Prepare Proposals and Estimates for the sales staff.

Management of Purchase Orders

Prioritize, plan work activities to complete duties on time as needed.

Understand cost trends and parts with price volatility, plan as needed.

Maintain price sheets and catalogs of our suppliers.

Purchase materials and provide purchase orders to subcontractors for signed projects.

Design plans in AutoCAD, prepare and process permits.

Back up counter sales, service phone calls and sales phone calls as needed.

Work closely with crew members to better understand job site requirements to complete projects on a timely basis.

Complete any additional training or projects assigned to you by your management.

**Education and Qualifications**:
A High School Degree or equivalent is required.

Computer skills knowledge and efficiency, helpful.

Prior Construction experience and/or knowledge helpful.

The Ability comprehend drawings and blueprints.

The ability to learn on the job in a fast-paced environment.
