**Position Summary**: Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator will play an important supportive role in coordinating fundraising resources and promoting AFA’s mission. The coordinator will be an essential member of the team that supports the organization’s fundraising goals through individual appeals, and day-to-day donor management. The coordinator will work with Marketing to create social media and website posts and campaigns to promote AFA’s programs, events, and accomplishments. The coordinator will demonstrate initiative, an excitement for creative development work and a collaborative approach.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Coordinate the direct mail solicitations, including the year-end appeal, event invitations, and appeals for special campaigns and events.
- Ensure event and direct mailing lists are kept up to date with current donor addresses and salutations. Leverage knowledge of donor database to support and advance the Office's fundraising activities, from the generation of complex mailings lists and reports, to overseeing data and gift entry, supporting donor stewardship and supervising maintenance of donor records. Set up and administer online giving.
- Generate and update fundraising reports including donor giving history reports and other related reports requested by the Director of Development.
- Coordinate with the Finance department on monthly gift reconciliation. Work closely with the finance team to manage, reconcile, and track various types of donations including recurring donations, in-kind gifts, honor/memorial gifts, and matching gifts.
- Responsible for segmentation of donors, donor recognition, reporting and analysis, list management, and events.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum three years’ experience working in fundraising.
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite; Familiarity with donor databases and fundraising software platforms
- Demonstrated passion for and understanding of fundraising and institutional advancement.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Comfortable with managing event budgets, utilizing timelines and analyzing data.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive donor information with discretion.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Periodic traveling with some evenings and weekends.
