**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:In addition to the following, performs other related duties as required.**

Performs office duties, type correspondence, reports, and records, and maintains filing system; maintains payroll and benefits records.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:Any combination of training and work experience which indicates possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed below. An example of an acceptable qualification for this position is**:
Completion of secondary education or equivalent; training or experience in typing, computers, bookkeeping, and office procedures.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION**:For purposes of 42USC 12101.**

1. Types correspondence, memos, and reports; prepares all bills, purchase orders, and invoices; maintains records of balances in all accounts.

2. Answers telephone; takes messages; directs calls to appropriate departments or personnel; gives information on projects; greets public in office.

3. Prepares department payroll and benefits records; reviews and reconciles time cards; records overtime and prepares payroll for approval; maintains service records; annual MVH report.

4. Maintains petty cash funds; issues recycling bins and trash tags; maintains landfill, yard waste, and recycling accounts.

5. Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

**OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Orders office supplies.

2. Performs other related duties as required.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES** **necessary to perform duties (* indicates developed after employment).**

**Knowledge of**: department policies and procedures;* budgeting; payroll practices and procedures; purchasing; office practices and procedures; English grammar and spelling; records management.

**Skill in**: typing; word processing; computer operation; adding machine or calculator operation; use of modern office equipment.

**Ability to**: interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, picture, or schedule form; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; read, copy, and record figures accurately; perform basic addition and subtraction; prepare accurate documentation; compile and prepare reports; respond to routine inquiries from public and/or officials; gather, collate, and classify information; maintain records according to established procedures.

**EQUIPMENT OPERATED**

Computer, calculator, copier, fax and miscellaneous office equipment.

**UNUSUAL, HAZARDOUS OR PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS**:
The employee must negotiate, use, or work with or in the vicinity of:
1. Handling of material and supplies. (Includes mechanical handling equipment, the manner in which things are stored, and housekeeping.)

2. Hazardous chemicals.

**LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS**

Valid driver’s license.

**RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT**

Resident of Grant County, Indiana, or ability to obtain residency within six (6) months.

Pay: $35,718.54 per year
