Busy, growing orthopedic practice has an opening for a surgical scheduler.

The surgical scheduler will support 5 physicians in providing excellent care and outstanding patient experiences by having the following skills and knowledge base.

- Obtaining insurance authorizations for all procedures
- Collecting deductible/copay/coinsurance prior to procedure
- Organize and gather records to assemble surgery packets
- Schedule post op appointments and first PT appointments
- Gather all DME needed prior to surgery
- Communicate with Reps when surgical equipment/implants are needed
- Answer all physician calls and incoming surgery questions regarding scheduled procedures
- Order required labs and tests needed for surgery
- Request, gather, and view clearances for surgery and implement surgery orders
- Coordinating with hospital for scheduling cases for each surgical day
- Verifies all information entered in computer is correct, including demographics and all other necessary information
- Ensures all necessary paperwork for any patient is received by the appropriate party
- Communicating any and all scheduling changes to all appropriate parties. Maintains an open line of communication with Manager and Physician at all times
- Familiar with basic medical terminology associated with specialty
- Ability to cross-train in other areas of office as required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years’ experience in a health-related organization required. MA or LPN experience strongly preferred
- All other duties as assigned by management

We offer a competitive salary and benefit package, including 85% employer paid health insurance for the employee only, 401k after one year.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
