**PRIMARY FUNCTION**: The student will support NIH-funded research. Must have completed at least two laboratory courses and have good hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques such as cloning, PCR, bacterial transformation, DNA preparation and electrophoresis. Recent college graduates looking for a gap year position eligible.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Coordinate procedures and perform lab duties requiring the exercise of analytical judgment.
- Record, compile, organize, evaluate and interpret data obtained with methods requested.
- Manage lab safety, place supply orders, and participate in overall lab maintenance.
- Must be comfortable with working with mice.
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The preferred background includes coursework in and biology/biochemistry, with prior research lab experience.
